Photo Workshop #2 – Cinque Terre

Scroll down to content

Cinque Terre is Italian for 5 Lands.  This small rugged part of the Italian Riviera consists 5 tiny villages on the north-western coast.  The coastline, villages and surrounding hillsides are part of  Cinque Terre National Park and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Our three days here will filled with early morning sunrise and evening sunset shoots.  The time in between was filled with discovering little nooks and laneways in 4 of the 5 towns.  They each had their own charm and beauty.  They all were built on hills – which meant we were either climbing up or going down stairs.  Having my 16-pound camera backpack with me all the time added to the “joy” of the stairs.

We stayed in Riomaggiore which is the most southern/western town.  The room was very small but we had an incredible view of the town below and the ocean.

In Cinque Terre, it was my hope that Paolo would teach me a thing or two about taking long exposures with light and water.  He didn’t disappoint.  I am really happy with the shots of the towns at night and my rocks.  I hope you enjoy.

This was my last shot of my photo tour – I love it!

I want to thank Paolo for an amazing week.  His expertise and passion for photography is surpassed by none.  He was caring and kind not only to me, but my friends.  I have learned so much on this trip but also realize how much I still have to learn and practice.  I look forward to more workshops with him.

I also want to thank Sue for joining me on this leg of my adventure.  You have been an incredible roommate, travel companion, navigator and most of all friend.
