Citiva di Bagnoregio means “dying city” but I found so much life and beauty at this little 7th century village that is perched high upon a rock outcropping.

Anne just starting the long steep path over to the town
Flower pots everywhere
Little bridges and laneways

These little residents were waiting for some gelato from Anne

The building on the left had lost the back part of the building in a landslide

I totally loved this little gem of a town and the people in it. It’s tiny and will only take an hour to check out all the nooks and crannies.

Orvieto is another beautiful little town perched high on a rock cliff and is located not to far from Citiva di Bagnoregio so we visited it on the same day,

The large rock the town is based on
The Duomo of Orvieto
Large church for such a small town

Homes built right in the cliff
